The 29/30 Nodal Transit: Desire Without a Guarantee
It’s August 2026, and until around the 24th of November, the transiting nodal axis is South Node in Gate 29 and North Node in Gate 30.
This creates a unique environment around commitment, desire, persistence, and experience. The rewards are not guaranteed simply because we persist or commit. The outcome is ultimately in the hands of the fates.
Which way will the ball bounce?
This isn’t like the controlled, smooth billiard table where the skilled master can calculate exactly which way the ball will travel. This is different. There is no logical pattern available to anticipate the outcome. This is abstract energy that can fuel the desire for an experience — or not.
Recently, I found myself getting very excited about something. With Pluto in Gate 41 and the North Node in Gate 30, (ps. btw. everyone on the planet is being conditioned by this abstract emotional Channel of Recognition until late November, so this could quite certainly pertain to you.)
Being aware of this, I began noticing my own mind getting caught up in the dreamy, excited feeling of what seemed “destined,” or what could happen. The awareness of the Nodes gave me the opportunity to catch myself from time to time, become pragmatic, and prepare myself for the possibility that the outcome could be very different from what I was fantasizing about.
The desire can be real without the imagined outcome being real.
This nodal environment reminds me very much of the ancient Taoist story The Old Man Lost His Horse (Sài Wēng Shī Mǎ), in which a farmer's horse runs away and his neighbors call it bad luck. He simply replies, “Maybe.”
The horse returns with wild horses and they call it good luck. Again: “Maybe.”
His son breaks his leg trying to tame one; “Maybe.”
Later, the army comes to conscript able-bodied men for war, and the injured son is spared.
What appeared to be misfortune becomes fortune, and what appeared to be fortune becomes misfortune. The point is not passivity. It is the recognition that we often cannot know the significance of an event while we are still inside it.
This doesn’t seem to be what the MIND would call the ‘easiest’ nodal environmental weather to traverse.
Yet our unique Strategy & Authority offers a way to make decisions as ourselves while noticing what the mind thinks about the outcome of persistence.
The 29 can say yes and commit to the experience. The 30 can feel the desire for what that experience might bring. But neither gives us a guarantee of the result.
Perhaps the practice in this nodal field is not to stop desiring, committing, or experiencing — but to recognize that we do not get to decide in advance what the experience will mean.
